Benefits to Masonry Gray Block

Reduces Construction Time — TIME IS MONEY!!
Concrete Masonry Block offers the fastest way to build and develop a basement. Most block foundations can be finished and back filled in just a couple days. Other systems cannot be backfilled for several days to avoid cracking.

Increases Energy Efficiency
A typical masonry block foundation has more R-Value, saving you even more when it is time to insulate.

The straighter the top of a foundation wall is, the less likely there will be air leaks. Air leaks are virtually eliminated with masonry block. Whereas with other systems, it is much more difficult to provide a straight top.

The hollow spaces in masonry block aid in keeping water condensation away from the inside of wall surfaces. A dry inside wall surface is better for the insulation process.  Some other systems have no choice but to "sweat".

Provides Higher Strength
Other systems rely on the correct mixture of water on the job-site.  Too much water reduces the strength of the wall and increases the cracks. DOMINE masonry block is checked in the plant before it gets to the job-site.  The block used for large commercial jobs is the same block used for a residential home.

Flexibility in Construction
Masonry block foundations allow you to adjust to changes, such as moving a door or window. With other systems once you start you start the process there is no turning back.

Improved Waterproofing
Masonry block walls are waterproofed by applying a cement based coating. This is known as backplastering.  Many other systems do not have this waterproofing.

Ability to Repair
In the event that repairs are needed, masonry block foundation repairs can be made using regular motar. With other systems repairs can require a complex, costly set of steps.

"Around-the-Calender" Construction
Provided the soil is not frozen, a masonry block wall can be constructed in any temperature.

Reduced Cost
Concrete Masonry Block basements are generally less expensive than other systems.
